Learning Pathways at Harrods International Academy
There are five distinct learning pathways at Harrods International Academy for your child to consider.
Harrods Early Years School
Our early years programming consists of four years of schooling, ranging from pre-nursery to kindergarten. Recent research has revealed what we have long known at Harrods International Academy — that these first years of school are critical to the growth and development of each child.
The early years pathway at Harrods International School is anchored by the Cambridge curriculum, incorporating age-appropriate academic topics and skills into the classroom environment. At the same time, the best Montessori practices are implemented, ensuring that young children have the freedom to explore their classroom, discover their interests and learn in a way that works best for them. We believe that experiential learning in a play-based environment is the best way for any child to begin their educational journey.
Harrods International Primary School
After completing the early years pathway, young learners move on to our international primary school. Our primary school includes Grades 1 to 5, and it is designed to establish an academic foundation as students begin adapting to a more structured learning environment.
We offer two curricula options at our international primary school:
- International Primary Curriculum — Following the British National Key Stage Curriculum, the IPC is well-known for its academic focus as well as its ability to develop cultural awareness in young students.
- National Khmer Curriculum — The National Khmer Curriculum runs in tandem with the IPC and complements the curriculum while accommodating national regulations. This curriculum introduces students to Khmer history.
Our primary school pathway employs a learner-focused pedagogy that naturally accommodates the unique needs of each student while simultaneously instilling a global perspective that promotes the development of cultural awareness.
Harrods Lower Secondary to Cambridge School
Harrods International Academy’s secondary pathways consist of lower and upper secondary schools geared toward students between the ages of 11 and 18.
Students can opt for a lower secondary pathway that leads to the Cambridge A-levels in Years 12 and 13. Upon completion of their A-levels, they take their National Exams in Year 12. Most students continue to university, either in Cambodia or abroad.
Harrods Lower Secondary to Cambridge IGCSE and University Foundation Pathway
Another pathway option for secondary school leads to the Cambridge IGCSE and the University Foundation Programme. This pathway consists of:
- A Cambridge-based lower secondary programme during Years 7, 8 and 9.
- The Cambridge IGCSE during Years 10 and 11. At Harrods International Academy, the mandatory subjects in the IGCSE include English, Science, Mathematics and Global Perspectives. There are several electives available, including Business, Chinese and Computer Studies.
- Harrods University Foundation Pathway is an optional programme that can last for 9, 12 or 15 months, depending on your preferences. This intensive pathway prepares students for the experience of studying at top-tier international universities.
Harrods Lower Secondary to Cambridge IGCSE and Secondary IP Certificate
