Harrods International Academy recently hosted Secondary Entrepreneur’s Day, giving our students the opportunity to step into the world of business, creativity, and innovation through a practical and engaging learning experience.
The event was designed to encourage students to think beyond the classroom and explore what it takes to develop an idea, plan a product or service, work as a team, and engage with customers. Throughout the day, students transformed their concepts into real activities and business stalls, putting their communication, leadership, problem solving, and decision making skills into practice.
From developing their ideas to preparing products, setting prices, promoting their stalls, and interacting with customers, students experienced many of the key elements involved in entrepreneurship. The activity challenged them to think creatively, take responsibility, and adapt to real situations as they worked together to achieve their goals.
Entrepreneur’s Day also provided an important opportunity for students to strengthen their confidence and teamwork. Each group had to organise responsibilities, manage time effectively, communicate with one another, and make decisions as challenges arose. These experiences helped students understand that successful entrepreneurship requires not only a good idea, but also collaboration, planning, resilience, and the willingness to learn from experience.
The lively atmosphere across the event reflected the enthusiasm and creativity of our Secondary students. Students had the chance to present their ideas to the school community, engage with their peers, and receive immediate feedback on their products and approaches.
At Harrods International Academy, we believe that meaningful learning experiences help students connect academic knowledge with the skills they will need in the future. Activities such as Entrepreneur’s Day encourage students to become more independent, innovative, and confident while developing an understanding of how ideas can be transformed into real opportunities.
The event also highlighted the importance of financial awareness, customer service, communication, and responsible decision making. By experiencing these elements first hand, students were able to gain a deeper appreciation of the effort and preparation involved in running a successful initiative.
We are proud of all our Secondary students for the creativity, enthusiasm, and determination they demonstrated throughout the event. Their willingness to take on new challenges and work together made the day both meaningful and enjoyable.
