Welcome to our Primary Years programme, where our students continue to discover their passions and expand on fundamental knowledge that prepares them for the next part of their academic journey
The Primary Years programme at HIA follows the Cambridge Primary teaching methodology which infuses the inquiry-based learning into the day-to-day activities and lessons we convey to our students. Our aim is to provide a well-rounded approach in our academic offerings with an emphasis on a globally-recognised curriculum. Through the Primary Years programme, students are able to explore their socio-emotional aptitude through making meaningful connections and their interests while being exposed to multiple disciplines. This equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills to be relevant locally and internationally.
Harrods’ Primary Years stands apart through its dynamic blend of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and a strong focus on inquiry-based learning, nurturing students to become curious, confident, and globally minded learners. Unlike traditional approaches, learning at Harrods is centred around real-world themes that connect subjects meaningfully, helping students develop both academic skills and personal attributes such as adaptability, collaboration, and critical thinking. With engaging learning environments, dedicated international educators, and a strong emphasis on both academic excellence and character development, Harrods empowers each child to thrive in an ever-changing world.
“Welcome to Harrods Primary Years, where we are passionate about creating a vibrant and inspiring learning environment that nurtures each child’s curiosity and potential. Our programme is designed to engage students through the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), encouraging exploration, critical thinking, and a love of discovery across all subjects. Supported by a dedicated team of educators, we focus not only on academic achievement but also on developing character, creativity, and global awareness. I am honoured to lead a community where every child is empowered to grow confidently and joyfully on their educational journey.”

Here at Harrods, ensuring that our students feel safe and comfortable while on our campus is our priority. With that in mind, we place a lot of care in designing spaces that promote a sense of belonging while also encapsulating the very essence of curiosity and discovery.
Harrods Primary Daily Schedule
At Harrods, we believe that strong collaboration with parents is key to a child’s success throughout their Primary Years. We maintain clear and consistent communication through regular updates, parent-teacher conferences, and school newsletters to keep families informed and engaged. Parents are warmly encouraged to participate in a variety of events, including reading days, student exhibitions, and cultural celebrations, fostering meaningful connections with their child’s learning. We also provide dedicated support during the settling-in phase and important transitions, such as moving between year groups, through orientation sessions and personalised meetings. Together, we create a supportive community that helps every child feel confident and valued on their educational journey.
A campus is not complete without its accompanying facilities. Here at HIA, we believe in creating spaces that are not only conducive for learning but with a strong emphasis on caring for the wellbeing of our students.

At Harrods, we prioritise the holistic development of our Primary students by offering comprehensive emotional and behavioural support tailored to each child’s needs. Our dedicated team works closely with families and educators to identify challenges early and implement effective strategies that promote positive behaviour and wellbeing. The experienced SEN (Special Educational Needs) team provides personalised learning plans and inclusive resources to ensure every student can fully engage and succeed in their education. Beyond academic support, our school counsellors and wellbeing specialists offer regular sessions to help students develop social skills, manage emotions, and build resilience. We also run workshops and parenting seminars to empower families with tools and knowledge to support their child’s growth at home. This collaborative approach creates a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and equipped to reach their full potential.
The IPC is a globally recognised curriculum designed for children aged 5 to 11, focusing on thematic, inquiry-based learning. It combines academic, personal, and international learning goals to foster curiosity, creativity, and global understanding.
IPC is unique in its thematic approach, linking subjects together through real-world topics. This helps students make meaningful connections across disciplines, develop critical thinking, and understand the relevance of their learning.
IPC includes a wide range of subjects such as Science, History, Geography, Art, Music, Technology, and International Mindedness, while English and Mathematics are taught through the Cambridge curriculum to ensure a strong foundation in core skills.
Each IPC unit includes international learning goals, encouraging students to explore and respect different cultures, perspectives, and global issues. This nurtures open-mindedness and prepares students to become responsible global citizens.
Absolutely. IPC is designed to be inclusive and adaptable, making it suitable for students from diverse educational backgrounds. It fosters personal growth and builds skills progressively across all stages of primary learning.
Our qualified teachers undergo regular IPC training and planning sessions to ensure engaging, consistent delivery. Learning is assessed continuously, and parents are kept involved through student-led conferences, exhibitions, and updates.
Our approach to delivering the best education to our students is by focusing on the students themselves. By having a smaller group of students conducted by our esteemed educators in every session, we can provide the most care and attention to our students, ensuring that they develop to the best of their potential at their own pace.
